Ed Miliband Tweets News Of New Son's Arrival - But No Name As Yet

Ed Miliband and his partner Justine Thornton have announced the arrival of a second son - and this time, his dad vows he will be named on the birth certificate.

The little boy, whose name has not yet been released, weighed in at 8lb 3oz and was described as 'gorgeous' by the Labour leader.

The couple already have a 17-month-old son Daniel but Labour leader MIliband is not named as the father on Daniel's birth certificate.

He said he had failed to accompany Justine to register Daniel's birth, and as they are unmarried, his name could not be added. He said at the time he was 'really embarrassed' about the situation: 'What happens is if you are partners, rather than married - as we found out after the event - is that when Justine went to register Daniel, she came back and said "You will never believe it, I can't register you. You have got to go along to the council offices and make sure you do it". I am really embarrassed I haven't.'

Making sure no such slip up happens with the latest arrival, Mr Miliband added: 'We have got a second one on the way and I am going to make sure I do two for the price of one.'

Last night a Labour party spokesman said: 'Ed and Justine are overjoyed at the birth of their second child and can't wait to introduce the new arrival to his big brother, Daniel. Both are keen to pass on their thanks to the NHS staff at the hospital.'

Mr Miliband took to Twitter to inform his followers: 'Thanks for all the good wishes. He's gorgeous. Mum and baby doing great.'

Update: baby named.

What do you think the Milibands might name their new son?

Will they take inspiration from the Labour history books?

Gordon? Tony? Neil? What would you suggest?
