"We don't stop playing because we grow old. We grow old because we stop playing." George Bernard Shaw. "Nothing says Christmas like a group of carol singing jeans or a Sylvanian Families trailer park." Selfridges.

Their brilliant Christmas window displays, which use the theme of 'Play' and are strictly U-rated, are now available to be enjoyed by all Christmas shoppers lucky enough to visit the legendary Oxford Street store. For those not able to view them in person – here are the highlights.

Erin Thompson, head of windows and visual merchandising at Selfridges commented: "This year we are responding to the shift for the simpler pleasures in life and are really keen to get all our customers starry-eyed – especially the adults among them. There is nothing more fun than being a kid, whatever your age and our PLAY theme reflects this from the outside in."

A sense of fun - just one of the many reasons why Selfridges currently enjoys the World's Best Department Store title.
