Spring/Summer 2011 Trend Report: Maxi Lengths

03/02/2011 17:13 | Updated 22 May 2015

The mood: While long, floaty dresses brought a hint of summer romance to the catwalks this season, maxi lengths also took on a new dimension as they made strong statements in bold colours. When it comes to skirts and dresses, it's time to think in a new scale.

The must-haves: Floaty florals, as seen at D&G, or follow Lanvin's example and go for an extra wide shape in a statement shade. High-waisted belts will complete the look.

MyDaily tip: Keep accessorises to a minimum and team your maxi skirt with a plain white t-shirt for maximum wow effect. Look to Jil Sander and Michael Kors for styling inspiration.
