THE LOOK: 1940s heroine.
WHY IT WORKS: The perfect cherry red pout and porcelain skin were offset by loosely, pinned back hair and of course, the fabulous scarlet shades. It was chic, but in a relaxed, effortless way.
RUN WAY TO REAL WAY: For the 40s roll hair do, part the hair to the side and smooth one section of the hair. Holding the hair at the ends, roll it upwards towards the scalp and pin down. Repeat this on the other side and secure with a touch of hairspray. When it comes to the makeup, concentrate on the lips. Use a lip pencil to add definition and shape and keep the colour bold in a matt finish.
