Toddler Videoed Smoking Pot

A couple have been arrested for allegedly letting their 23-month-old baby smoke marijuana.

A video of the toddler reportedly using a marijuana pipe was handed to police in Hesperia, Southern California.

The toddler's parents, 20-year-old Melanie Soliz and 24-year-old Blake Hightower claimed they had medical marijuana cards, but offered no explanation as to why the little boy was filmed smoking the pipe.

The San Bernardino County sheriff's deputy Lisa Guerra described the video to reporters, saying: 'The video depicts the child placing the pipe up to his mouth and he sucks on it, pulls it away, sucks on it, pulls it way. And it's done about three times. The pipe does have some marijuana residue in it.'

Guerra went to the couple's home where she found the pipe used by the child in the video, as well as several others. The baby's mother - who is seven months pregnant - was arrested for cruelty to a child.

Whilst investigating the incident, officers noticed an injury on the little boy, and placed him with Child and Family Services.

Blake Hightower was also charged with cruelty, after handing himself in to the police.
