Why not. His presence has unfortunately affected the entire genre of comic books and comic book film specifically for almost a half century. to their detriment. Just look at Burton and Shumaker's supposedly 'dark' and serious Batman films. They were essentially remakes of Batman '66 without the "Boof!" "pow" "ZOWIE! graphics.

Something that Chris Nolan and Jon Favreau are just finally and barely surmounting and succeeding. If Nolan is able to work in some wry 'in joke" of how this over the top campy guy is killed and buried, it'd make a funny topper and announce that the era of jokey superheroes is over at last.
