Vernon Kay, Paul O'Grady To Replace Lloyd Grossman, Sir David Frost In Through The Keyhold Revamp

Vernon Kay To Go Through The Keyhole For TV Revamp

PRESS ASSOCIATION -- Vernon Kay is apparently set to be the new star of Through The Keyhole.

The TV presenter is said to be stepping into Loyd Grossman's role, where he will snoop through celebrities' homes, while Paul O'Grady is reportedly the favourite to get the studio host job in the revamped show, formerly fronted by Sir David Frost.

"Vernon and Paul are the top choices to reinvigorate the show," a source told the Daily Mirror.

"The whole programme had become stuffy and looked and felt dated. This time there will be a lavish studio, amazing celeb houses and a real sense of fun."

Through The Keyhole, which challenges viewers to guess the homeowner's identity, launched in 1987 and Loyd's catchphrase - 'Who lives in a house like this?' - soon became famous.

It ran on ITV before transferring to Sky in the 1990s, and then moved to the BBC until it stopped airing in 2008.

FremantleMedia, the company behind The X Factor and Britain's Got Talent, has bought the rights to the series and plans to give it a contemporary makeover.

The company's chief Trish Kinane said: "It was the first gameshow to celebrate celebrity culture, and there is now a new generation of celebrities all over the world who are eager to take part."
