No needs to be blamed for the death of Amy Winehouse, the English singer-songwriter of Russian extraction who burst onto the jazz and soul scene in 2003 with her critically acclaimed debut album “Frank”. She had a successful follow-up album “Back to Black” three years later but spectacular problems with hard drugs and alcohol were already starting to threaten her career. Too unstable to tour, her live concerts became a byword for violence and unprofessional conduct though - when dried out - she won many industry awards. Covered in tattoos, she was often at the top of the "Ten Worst Dressed Women" list and voted the most hated UK personality for songs disparaging blacks, gays and the disabled. Tormented by increasing mental health problems and suffering from emphysema as a result of her excessive smoking of crack cocaine she died in July 2011 aged 27. End of story.
