If there's one member of the art world who is qualified to launch a cosmetics line with Mac, it's surely Cindy Sherman. The artist, who has made her name manipulating and transforming her image with the help of extreme makeup, has collaborated with the brand to create three insane looks - with colour palettes so that you can recreate them in the comfort of your own home.
Sherman's self portrait photography often challenges the way that women are viewed by society. The results are often a more than a little disturbing - and she certainly hasn't toned it down for Mac (we find the morose clown particularly unnerving).
Admittedly these looks won't work if you're looking to pull on a Saturday night, but they do give an extreme example of makeup's ability to transform, as well as offering a convenient way to terrify your boyfriend. From Hello Kitty and Wonder Woman to Disney Venomous Villians and Lady Gaga, Mac collaborations have pretty much have worked the whole spectrum of offbeat collaborations. Last week the brand announced Nicki Minaj and Ricky Martin as the new faces of Viva Glam line. We look forward to seeing who's next on the hit list. We think that the clever money is on Dolly Parton.
