PRESS ASSOCIATION -- Tom Cruise doesn't need any coaching from Mary J Blige, the singer has said.

The Grammy-winning songstress stars alongside the Hollywood actor in the big-screen adaptation of Broadway musical Rock Of Ages, but hasn't been tempted to offer Cruise singing lessons.

"I think we have a singing scene together - all of us. I don't have to coach Tom. He actually sounds really good. He can do anything," she told Collider.

Cruise plays bad boy rocker Stacee Jaxx in the musical film, while Mary has been cast as club owner Justice Charlier.

"That's going to be fun. I have to find out who this character is. I play a Gentleman's Club owner," she continued.

"I have to put together who she is. Does she have struggles? Is she going through things? Is she the person that's always bubbly and strong, but with the most problems? That's the inner work. So, I have an acting coach and I'm reading books on acting."

I don't like his Scientology, his treatment of Nicole Kidman or his strange courtship of his current wife, but in all fairness, Cruise is younger than several rock stars out there touring (Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen, the Stones, Huey Lewis). And he did sing in musicals in high school. So this is not a case of Cruise trying to be something that is unusual. He is 49 -- 20 years younger than McCartney, for heavens' sake! He is an ACTOR playing a ROLE.

Why do you suppose that this $cientologist-planted non-story is running ONLY in the UK version of HP ?

I'll tell you why: Teent Tom Cruise stories engender such virulent attacks on both him and his cult that the editors realize that their task-masters at $cientology's Gold Base in Hemet, California, would not be happy if the negatives outweigh the fawning fans cooing at the sight of The Teeny One's dirty HairClub4Men weaved wig and Chiclet-teeth.

His cult is a vile pyramid scheme that has been totally exposed in the USA, OUTLAWED in Germany and France, and the UK remains one of the few nations that still actually welcomes the dirty, ill-gotten cash these zombie tinfoil hat-wearers spread around in their wake.

WISE UP, Brits - kick $cientology OUT of your country !

I do respect your opinion.

I do not make it my business to mind peoples view of their spiritual or religious beliefs, nor 'am an authority of the Cruise-Kidman inner sanctum. Kidman is a credible actress on her own, and whatever reasons for the divorce, they are bound forever because of their love to their children, albeit adopted, or maybe because loving 2 chidren not your own is the greatest love of all.

That's good enough for me.

I was in London when Cruise and his present wife wed, in a little town in Italy. London news had a full blast coverage, and is fascinated with these two. That Italian town where they wed brought a sizeable income to the community.

I saw 2 clips of Cruise singing - 'am agreeing with Blige on that issue. For Cruise to take the part of a rock singer is a great test on his ability as an actor, even if you believe he is just playing a ROLE. It's a reliable sign of real talent, or that matter, for any actor to take a challenge outside of their comfort zones.

Conversely, do you believe McCartney can do a Mission Impossible movie - that's right, it would be impossible.

With no record label, and no singing contracts, and at age 49 to take such a challenge is the thrust of the narrative. Kudos to him.
