PRESS ASSOCIATION -- Private detective Glenn Mulcaire has revealed the names of News of the World staff who instructed him to carry out phone hacking, his solicitor has confirmed.

The information was passed in a letter to comedian Steve Coogan's lawyers in accordance with a court order.

Mulcaire had applied for permission to appeal against the order, which was made in February, but this was denied and he was compelled to pass over the details by Friday.

His solicitor Sarah Webb, from Payne Hicks Beach, said she could not reveal who the NOTW employees were because of "confidentiality issues".

Schillings, which is representing Coogan, has agreed not to reveal the names yet, to give Payne Hicks Beach a chance to apply for a court order stopping their release.

Mulcaire was ordered to reveal who instructed him to access Coogan's voicemails, as well as those of celebrities including PR guru Max Clifford and model Elle Macpherson.

He was jailed for six months in 2007 for intercepting messages left on royal aides' phones.

A spokeswoman for News International said the firm had no comment.

Rats' it's in the UK, too. I don't choose to wear badges because I like a clean slate, but now I have to wear this deadbeat tattoo? What a bummer.

Hey, Mod Squad. Did you read that Murdoch's Wireless Generation was handed back a $27 million no-bid contract by the state of NY? According to the NYDailyNews, the teachers unions and decent people of NY protested Mudoch dipping into the life sustaining wellspring of NCLB education funding for publishers. A British publisher profits the most from this excessive test accounting. The paper sites the hacking in Britian as their cause for declining the poorly informed no-bid deal. So, the puddle rings have crossed the pond and upset another Murdoch take over.

I think that's news, and so does HuffPo US. It's on the AP. But the NYTs is still holding back. Must be trying to flesh out the sex in the story like the good investigators they are.

I prefer the phrase, " I don't know what the hell you are talking about." But that's just me, also, I am an American

Rico (Racketeering Influenced and Corrupt Organizations) Act should be used in investigation and prosecution of Murdoch's companies. There is evidence that Murdoch's corporations have an actual SYSTEM to tap politicians phones. While employees of NewsCorp (including FoxNews) repeat their latest lie, "NewsCorp. is cooperating with authorities" a steady stream of actual information states the obvious--COVER-UP. The US Federal Government should investigate using the Racketeering and Corrupt Organizations Act

I wonder if there'll be a run on "gagging orders" this weekend. I understand from a friend , that there's been talk of slapping a superinjunction or D notice on this story from now on. Apparently the government feel it's "Starting to hurt the public trust & affect the confidence the british people have in their MPs. Hmm, trust & confidence in Parliament & its MPs. Now that's a novel thought.

I think Parliament is doing exactly what they need to do. They are taking their time one step after the other. One false statement that is refuted by others opens a new hole in the story. As more folks feel threatened and roll over it is just gonna grow. They never should have tried to blackmail a member of the Parliament her revelation made it really personal.

I agree, it would seem that parliament is taking a view of the long game.

So much for Muckmurdoch 'helping with investigations'. Seems to me things are being drawn out and covered up for as long as is possible.

On a side note, I hope Elle Macpherson has finally apologised and made amends to her once business partner who has, and no doubt as have her loved one's too, gone through hell as a result of all of this.

This is where this story could become either a sisappointing damp squid or explode back into life. One only has to recall the parting words of Mrs Brooks to her as then sacked former colleagues that worse was to come to realise that as yet this worseness she spoke of, hasn't really materialised as yet.
