The asteroid 2005 YU55 passes earth today, and here's its latest close-up. It's a little blurry, but you'd look blurry too if we took your photo from 1.38 million kilometres away.
The is the size of an aircraft hangar and will travel just slightly closer than the moon is to Earth.
The asteroid will be closest today, November 8, at 3:28 p.m. PST OR 11:28pm GMT, when the Arecibo Planetary Radar Facility in Puerto Rico will begin radar observations.
The last time a space rock this large came as close to Earth was in 1976, although astronomers did not know about the flyby at the time. The next known approach of an asteroid this size will be in 2028.

Nasa says amateur astronomers who want to get a glimpse at YU55 will need a telescope with an aperture of 6 inches or larger.
