Facebook Attacked: 'Flood' Of Porn And Gore Images Infuriates Hacked Users

Facebook users are reporting that their accounts have been flooded by images of hardcore pornography and violence.

In what appears to be the latest attack on the social network, some members have complained that the graphic images have been appearing in their news feeds which they have apparently 'liked', all without their knowledge.

Others are being told by their friends and contacts that they have been sending messages to click on videos and images.

The hack appears to be a typical Facebook hack in which users unwittingly give permission for an outside application to post images and videos to their account.

Facebook recently revealed that it faces up to 600,000 such attacks every day.

Users are outraged, however, and some have been threatening to close their accounts.

"Since when did Facebook become a porn site?" asked one user on Twitter. "I'm so close to closing my account."

"It's like a demon hacked into everybody's Facebook," wrote another user.

The actress Courtney Zito told The Christian Post, who broke the news of the hack: "My feed is littered with porn. I can’t even check my news feed with anyone around because of it. Just saw one with a guy who had his skull bashed in and his brains on the street … I’m about ready to deactivate…"

There is speculation that the hacker collective Anonymous might be behind the attack.

The group had threatened to "kill" Facebook on 5 November though no attack emerged.

Facebook has not yet commented on the hack.

come on people get real - i am an aged technophobe but 4 years ago when i received an email from a friend who i had lost touch with when he emigrated years before and wanted to be my friend on facebook - i stupidly hit the yes button

the result was that my entire directory was grabbed and everybody in it got an email saying i wanted them to be my friend

this was very difficult as i had no idea what was happening untill the next day when i started to receive emails from business associates, friends, government departments, on-line shops etc - all complaining that they were being harassed by this facebook thing

then my whole life changed - i had never previously had any problems with spam - now every day i received up to 50 or 60 offers from ladies aged 18 years (usually non european) who wanted to do things to my body that i would find most painfull due to my aged relative arthur itis who stops bits of me bending as they used to (ok and bits that should not bend now do)

after a week of this i changed my email address, bought a new computer, advised by telephone those who i needed to know my new addy, wrote by snailmail to apologise to all those who had been inconvenianced by my careless and knowledgeless actions

i also mentioned it to a few younger friends who checked their childrens activities and

I won't say that people deserve this for their over reliance on being able to tell 'friends' that they are breathing in - breathing out - breathing in- ....[simply because I believe that porn has no place in a civilized society and I have suffered from other similar events], but for those that do use these social network sites all I can say is think long and hard about what you put on them, who you accept as friends etc.
Just remember, you reap as you sow.

Is the press there to SPECULATE or to report facts? Seems the press have lost the plot! And people actually believe the lies the MSM press would have them believe without-so-much as a single question regarding such ridiculous claims!

Facebook.. shame so many people migrated from MySpace.. which was only meant for music in the first place, but no.. many decided to go to facebook.. and now more problems. There always will be. Facebook and MySpave have both been changed in the meantime and moans galore.. but these people WILL NOT leave alone.. and someone will always try to gain access and muck things up.

Its not actually that easy to delete your Facebook - during exam periods my friends and I deactivate our accounts then just "sign up" again and all our old friends, pages, groups, photos etc. all magically reappear without having to add them all again...

Users are threatening to close their accounts? Let's see them try. As far as I am aware it is impossible to close a facebook account. It can be deactivated but it's always there. Facebook is pyre evil..

Don't click on links or videos, set your account as secure ie: HTTPS and all should be well.
