X Factor's Amelia Lily Reveals West End Aspirations

X Factor comeback star Amelia Lily has revealed her dream of becoming a musical theatre star.

The pink-haired singer, who was voted back into the competition following Frankie Cocozza's exit last month, told us she dreams of starring in the West End if she doesn't win the show.

Amelia has now been re-styled as a "rock chick", but has confessed she still covets musical theatre roles.

She says: "I'd like to go in to theatre. I want to play Elphaba, the green witch in Wicked."

Before the X Factor, the 17-year-old attended a performing arts school in Middlesborough where, over the years, she performed in her home town with roles in shows like The Wizard of Oz, The Sound of Music, Hairspray, Grease, Willy Wonka, Legally Blonde and Cabaret.

When asked why she should win the competition over the other semi-finalists - Misha B, Marcus Collins and Little Mix - Amelia said: "I'd like to win because I've had a bit of a journey and the UK doesn't really have anyone like me. Some people like to say I'm like the British version of Kelly Clarkson and Pink, so it would be kind of nice to have an edgy rock chick in the UK charts, but I'm just grateful I've even got this far."

Probed on whether she thinks she has an advantage over her X Factor competitors because she's recently returned to the show, she said: "Absolutely not. These guys have worked so hard and so have I. I've been gigging all round the country and it's a pleasure to be back with these guys again and knowing that I'm in the semi-finals and I can just come back is a blessing."
