What A Difference A Year Makes: One Year After The Big Freeze

Big Freeze Anniversary

What a difference a year makes.

This time last year Britons were struggling through knee deep snow as a wave of dreadful weather brought Britain to a standstill.

A year on and it's hard to believe it's even winter.

This series of stunning images shows how the blanket of snow changed the entire landscape of the country.

In one junction 8 of the M25 motorway in Reigate looks more like a scene from the Alps, a train ploughs through now in Horley and play is unlikely at Essex County Cricket ground in Chelmsford.

This year it's an entirely different story as our slideshow illustrates.

I expect you will soon discover that amazingly tomorrow it will be light during the daytime and this is followed by nearly the same ammount of darkness.

That would be amazing indeed , approaching midwinter, we presently have almost twice as much darkness as light - and even more darkness in Scotland

Does this mean the energy bills will go down to having increased supply and lower demand?... didn't think so, they'll probably go up as they're not selling as much.

You mean, the weather isn't the same every day, every year? My goodness, what an amazing revelation. Next thing you'll be telling us is some days it rains and some days it doesn't. You'll be revealing we have seasons so that you don't get the same weather all year round. I can hardly wait.
