Strike Set To Cause Christmas Travel Chaos on Eurostar

A strike by public sector workers in Belgium may cause Christmas chaos for travellers using the high speed train line Eurostar.

The Eurostar service will stop in Lille, leaving a sparse coach service operating between the station in Northern France and Brussels, Belgium. Both stations are likely to be busy.

The 24-hour strike will start at 9pm on Wednesday, affecting the 7.04pm London to Brussels service which will terminate in Lille.

Eurostar recommends passengers to exchange their tickets if there are going to be affected by the strike. However the train service warns that free exchanges will be subject to availability on their crowded holiday services.
