A fry-up which weighs the same as a baby has been aptly named the Kidz Breakfast.

Tipping the scales at 9lbs, this 6,000 calorie fry-up costs £15 at Jester’s Diner in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk. But café owner Martin Smith is offering the whopping meal for FREE to anyone who can finish it.

He told The Sun: “Some people ask why we don’t serve tea or coffee with it, but we chose not to include them in the deal – caffeine is very bad for you.

But while some are happy to take on the challenge – including Lee Williams, 39, who has made three attempts, others are less than impressed.

HeartCare Cardiac Support Group told the BBC finishing the meal would “absolutely ruin your heart”.

Professor David Haslam, from the National Obesity Forum, said eating the breakfast was “dangerous” and “profoundly wrong” and could lead to diabetes, heart disease and stroke.

What you get:

  • Six fried eggs
  • 12 bacon rashers
  • Four black pudding slices
  • 12 sausages
  • Four slices of bread and butter
  • Four slices of toast
  • Four slices of fried bread
  • Beans
  • Tomatoes
  • Mushrooms
  • Sauteed potatoes
  • An eight-egg cheese and potato omelette

"HeartCare Cardiac Support Group told the BBC finishing the meal would “absolutely ruin your heart”."..... What an absolute lie - one meal could ruin your heart? How thick do they think we are? I couldn't eat that meal, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone but it wouldn't kill anyone to eat one meal. Now, trying to eat that meal on a regular basis... now that would be different.

I wonder what they fry it in? Is it vegetable oil, or is it in lard or dripping?

It does seem pretty good value for money. £15 for over 50 items of food, good idea for a few workmates to share this.

Trust the Health Fascists to weigh in [no pun intended]. I really like to eat one of these "heart attack on a plate" meals once in a while, but its usually just before I do something strenuous to work it off, like watch the Rugby on TV.

That'll go down nicely after a big plate of porridge :o)

I grew up having a fried breakfast every day, got to be better than crisps chocolate & a fizzy drink that I see the kids getting on way to school...........
