VIDEO: Students Clash With Police In Violent Protests

Students have clashed with police again over education reforms in Santiago, Chile.

A water cannon and tear gas were used in efforts to control the students, who were protesting near Santiago University, ITN reported.

The Chilean government previously said it would invoke emergency security laws to help quell the violence.

Students say the education system is profit-driven and provides poor instruction but talks between the government and students - who are backed by teachers and trade unions - have failed to reach a compromise.

The protest movement, which start in spring last year, is the biggest the country has seen since 1990, which marked the return to democracy.
