Amanda Holden says she is "euphoric" about making her return to the judging panel of Britain's Got Talent today little over a fortnight after she was in a critical condition in hospital.

The popular star will make her first public appearance in Edinburgh after giving birth to second child Hollie, which left her in intensive care.

Holden, 40, was thought to be travelling up last night after leaving her new baby briefly with her family to resume her role on the panel.

She joked that she was happy to be anywhere after her serious health scare. Holden is thought to have had a blood transfusion after a caesarean and was in a critical condition for three days.

She has been recovering at home in south west London since being discharged from hospital with her husband Chris Hughes and their other daughter Lexi, six.

Holden said: "I am euphoric to be heading back to my place at the judges desk - to be honest after the last couple of weeks I'm euphoric to be anywhere.

"This is just a very fleeting visit to Scotland and with the weather being so extreme I've decided to let my mum have some quality time with her new granddaughter - but I am looking forward to introducing Hollie to everyone on my next trip."

Earlier this week she released the first photo of her new addition alongside the family and the picture showed Holden was on the road to recovery and the colour had returned to her cheeks.

The actress and presenter had to step down from the show due to her medical emergency, missing auditions in Cardiff and London.

She was initially not replaced, but this week US actress Carmen Electra temporarily joined show regulars Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams.

The auditions take place at the Edinburgh Festival Theatre this afternoon.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Everyone's opinion should be respected. Even when those opinions are full of envy, vitriol, and hatred. I don't KNOW this woman. I have seen her on TV and she struck me as a pleasant enough, attractive and sympathetic person. I can, of course, only judge from what I see on the box. I often wondered what brought the really hateful remarks out in people when these fairly condescending but harmless reports are printed. Then it all became clear to me in an instant. Russel Brand appeared on this site. All my reasoning and logic went for a burton. I have never met him, he has never done me any harm, he has never done anyone I know any harm BUT I still hate him. Totally illogical, I can't stand his whiney mockney voice, his stupid and crass attempts at psychoanalysing himself, his "I just have to sleep with everyone" attitude and just , well just him really. So, I was going to take all of you people who have made nasty remarks about Amanda Holden to task, and then I reflected and realised .....that's what they are there for, these so called stars. They are there for us to criticise and run down as part of our national sport AND if they don't like it don't splatter their private lives all over the media. Me. I'm just as bad as everyone else!

I certainly ain't 'euphoric'!

...she's a nonentity!

Amanda Holden was plastered all over the front page of some newspapers, why, when there is much more important things going on in the world. She has only got to where she is today due to marrying Les Dennis, luckily he got shut! Newspapers, stupid magazines, etc are obsessed with 'celebrities'. I'm a mum of 2 and there is no way I would leave my young baby to go back to work. The woman is more concerned with attention seeking and filling her coffers. Pity her husband when he has to watch her flirting with other men on the TV.

I like her a lot, though I've never seen BGT. However, she was excellent in the hilarious tv show, Celeb, and extremely good in Thoroughly Modern Millie, which I saw onstage during one visit to London some years ago.

So far as returning to work goes - she probably has a contract and it's to her credit that she's fulfilling it. Leaving her baby with her mother for a day or two isn't reason to castigate her and I, for one, congratulate her on her recovery from serious illness.

We have no way of knowing the situation in her private life but as usual, know-alls are quick to criticise and condemn.

So her contract is more important than her new baby!!

sorry kid not kis

still baffled by how she qualifies to judge talent?
17:42 on 11/02/2012
When is BGT on TV? They've been talking about it for weeks but can't find it anywhere on the telly.
19:27 on 11/02/2012

22:08 on 11/02/2012
They are filming it now and it will be on tv later in the year

what a great mother spit the kid out then back to work ,the poor hard up cow.

Nearly died, yeh. Most of these so-called celebs just have babies to prove they can.
If this isn't a case of my job? comes first, i don't know what is. Frightened to death in case someone else gets the job? Selfish so and so, and that's putting it mildly.

Awww, Narny.... Don't sit on the fence. Just say it like it is!! :-)
17:52 on 11/02/2012
I agree with you Narny. If that was me that had just had a baby under those circumstances I would have been just content to be looking after the new baby and think myself lucky that I had come through a very tough time!

Disloyalty is a virtue.
16:33 on 11/02/2012
I agree with what's been said. We've been subjected to years of "poor Amanda" with her miscarriage, her stillborn baby and now almost losing her life giving birth to this one. Back at work after two weeks proves that (1) she most assuredly was NOT at death's door just a few weeks ago and (2) her child means less to her than her need for fame. She's utterly pathetic. But she'll be getting all the adoration she needs from her Twitter followers who seem to see her as some kind of hero. Idiots.
17:18 on 11/02/2012
yeh well thats aol for you, liars.

Isn't there anything this women wont do to keep herself in the press and media spot light, Just unbelievable.
