Less Of Your Lip: Nude Rules At The Baftas

Understated and red carpet are not usually bedfellows, but at this year's Baftas the hottest lips were low key. So low key in fact that they bordered on invisible.

From Tilda Swinton to Penelope Cruz, and from Gillian Anderson to Joanne Froggatt, classic lip colours like red and pink were left behind in favour of skin tones. This trend takes bare lips a step further and actually blends away the natural tint and skips shiny gloss altogether.

To take this look off the red carpet and into your beauty repertoire, try mixing your foundation with a basic lip balm before topping off with a light dusting of powder. If you aren't brave enough to go paler than absolutely necessary in the dead of winter, fear not, this is one of the spring's biggest trends so you will have plenty of time to give it a go.
