Adele: "I Don't Want To Be Some Skinny Minny With My T**s Out'

Adele flaunted a slimmer, blonder look when she swept the Grammys last week but the star insists she does not need to lose weight down or exploit her body to succeed.

The Someone Like You singer appears to have lost several stone since she was forced to cancel her US tour last October to undergo throat surgery, but she is playing down praise of her fab new look.

The 23-year-old London girl insists she has never aspired to look like girls on magazine covers or in music videos and she doesn't think she needs to be thin to be successful.

"I don’t want to be some skinny Minny with my t**s out. I really don’t want to do it. And I don’t want people confusing what it is that I’m about," she told US Vogue.

"No matter what you look like, I think the key is to be happy with yourself. Exploiting yourself sexually is not a good look."

Her album has sold more than 17 million copies worldwide but Adele adds that she is not a big fan of being famous.

She added: "I wanted to be a singer for ever. But it’s not really my cup of tea, having the whole world know who you are."

What would help is if she started to control her foul tongue and quit whining about her life.

I hope she doesn't change. The industry will do everything in it's power to demonstrate she has conformed to their beauty standards--even if she hasn't. I am happy for her success.

Good girl! And neither do you have to be the skinny minny with anything hanging out. That is the hallmark of marketing creations who cannot sing and need to distract. Carry on, you are stunning and perfect right this moment.

Well duh! What a dumb question! No she doesn't have to lose weight to be successful. Too many singers and actresses are so concerned about their bodies and AREN'T happy inside. Hooray for Adele! Stay true to yourself girlfriend. Adele is REAL. Not sure I can say that about to many other artists out there. Can the media etc. focus on the GREATNESS in people for a change? It isn't all about the looks people.

Totally agree with Adele. Glad she refuses to cater to the public demands. All of us are unique and deserve to be treated as such. I am all for women not exploiting themselves to get further in a career or personal life for that matter. Adele you have class!!

You know what would be awesome? If Adele transforms from torch songs and ballads and makes albums like Tom Waits. I'd love to hear that voice do something off kilter musically.

Thank god for this woman. This time last year my girls were singing Katy Perry and I had to choke back the vomit. Now they singing Adelle non stop. They may be a little to young to understand the heartbreak but at least they now know what a real talent sounds like. And the fact she is so down to earth and real about herself and her appearance just an added bonus. This is the type of person I want my girls to admire, not some plastic lip synching bag of slicone.
