Cherie Blair has lodged a claim over hacking of her phone, her lawyers said on Wednesday night.

The former prime minister's wife is set to sue News Group Newspapers over claims her phone was hacked.

A statement released by Graham Atkins, of Atkins Thomson, said: "I can confirm that we have issued a claim on behalf of Cherie Blair in relation to the unlawful interception of her voicemails.

"I will not be commenting any further at this time."

It shouldn't be too hard for News Group to prove that NO ONE is interested in ANYTHING she has to say. Why would they hack her phone?

Undoubtedly a very smart cookie, but born, I think, with a nettle under her skin! Appreciate that she was a founder member of Matrix Chambers, but unfortunately the thought 'Dominatrix' comes to mind!

I find it extremely worrying that Mrs Bliar's phone could be hacked by the press. There was I thinking she and her husband were protected by Military and National defence, with close protection of their family and blanket security over communication? If it turns out she was hacked and her phone was not secure, then it is a damning indictment on the standards set by the security service of this country.

i have the upmost sympathy for mrs blair as not only has her free worldwide travelcard expired, she clearly has the traumatised look of someone whose phone has been hacked....into her face.
