Dark Shadows
Johnny Depp as Barnabas Collins in Dark Shadows

Photos of Dark Shadows' stars Johnny Depp, Michelle Pfeiffer, Eva Green and Helena Bonham Carter as their characters in the Tim Burton gothic-horror tale have been unveiled in the latest issue of Vanity Fair.

Depp, who plays powerful vampire playboy Barnabas Collins, can be seen with some very sharp fingers and slick hair, while Bonham Carter - Burton's wife - who plays Dr Julia Hoffman, the Collins family's live-in psychiatrist, is pictured with copper hair and a seventies style top.

First look photos of Pfeiffer in her role as Elizabeth Collins Stoddard and Green as Angelique Bouchard, the witch who turns Collins into a vampire after he breaks her heart, have also been revealed.

But while the female stars still look beautiful as their Dark Shadow characters, it's unlikely Depp, who appears to sport a prosthetic nose, will make as many hearts flutter as he did when he played pirate Jack Sparrow. And Edward Cullen can rest assured - he's still the hottest blood-sucker in Hollywood.

Dark Shadows was originally a show that ran on the ABC network between 1966 and 1971, featuring ghosts, vampires, zombies and werewolves. Burton's adaptation will see Depp play the master of Collinwood Manor. He makes a grave mistake of breaking the heart of Bouchard, who not only turns him into a vampire but also buries him alive.

Two centuries after his death, Collins is inadvertently freed from his tomb. The vampire then returns to his mansion only to find his once-grand estate has fallen into ruin.

Can't wait. At Collinswood, everyday is Halloween and every night is Firght Night! Dark Shadows was the first gothic horror soap opera. Depp will do it justice. Wonder if any of the original cast will have cameo roles?

Johnny Depp looks great in character! Michelle Pfeiffer always looks good, but the reviewer of this piece did not do their homework. They said, "First Look". That is not true. There have been several other images of Pfeiffer in character for Dark Shadows. This is not the first look. And who the heck is Eva Green? Why is an unknown on the front?

Eva Green is fairly well-known, actually. She was the female lead opposite Daniel Craig in 'Casino Royal'--amongst other high profile projects.

Tim Burton, how about my idea for a film.

It involves some Actors and Actresses, forced to act in every film a Director makes, the men have to clad themselves in make-up, the women have to wear an outlandish wardrobe and the stories are outright bizarre!

Now that would be a film i'd watch! I'm a Tim Burton fan, but some new faces wouldn't do too badly!

Whoever wrote this apparently has no taste. I'd take tasty Johnny in his *proper* vamp getup over Pattinson as Sparkles McStalkerpants anyday. Robert Pattinson is handsome, but made up as Edward Cullen he looks like a pasty, underfed, insomniac with a serial killer look in his eyes. No thanks.

Ahem. Regarding the movie I'm very much looking forward to it. We've needed a DECENT vampire movie to come out for years now, and who better to tackle it that Tim Burton? Hooray!

Fantastic. Another dark, vampire story. I hope it's edgy, extreme, iconic and avoidable.
