The leader of the Catholic Church in Scotland, Cardinal Keith O'Brien, has caused a storm over his remarks in the Sunday Telegraph - and on Radio 4's Today programme - about gay marriage.

At one point in his Sunday Telegraph article, O'Brien compared same-sex unions to slavery, saying: "Imagine for a moment that the Government had decided to legalise slavery but assured us that 'no one will be forced to keep a slave'. Would such worthless assurances calm our fury?”.

Yes, O'Brien couldn't be more anti-gay marriage if he was South Park's Mr Garrison in one of his most self-loathing moments. In fact, O'Brien has made us realise that we can no longer shake our heads in bewilderment at our friends across The Pond - because there's something spookily familiar about his arguments...

Yes, step forward Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum - a man whose views on homosexuality and gay marriage are so notorious that they even have their own Wikipedia entry.

So, could you spot the difference between the views of a Scottish Cardinal and those of a right-wing American Senator? Try our fun quiz below - and guess who made the following comments:

Unfortunately, now we can add Kirk Cameron to this long list of narrow minded nutters.
