The Apprentice 2012: Lord Sugar's Candidates And Their Lookalikes

The Huffington Post UK  |  By Posted: 21/03/2012 15:40 Updated: 21/03/2012 15:43

Lord Sugar has picked himself a brand new crop of contestants to try out his challenges, in the hope of winning a gesture of trust and faith, to the tune of a £250,000 investment, and so, on Wednesday night, The Apprentice will return to TV.

This might not be Celebrity Apprentice but, much to our delight, the 16 candidates all bear striking resemblances to people in the spotlight already - from Dermot O'Leary, Vernon Kay, and Idris Elba lookalikes amongst the boys, to Imogen Thomas, Catherine Tate and Celebrity Big Brother contestant Nicola McLean dopplegangers amongst the girls.

One hopeful has even been compared to Condoleeza Rice, so we'll have to wait and see if she enjoys the same powers of negotiation and statecraft in the boardroom.

However, it's unclear how happy contestant Ricky Martin - a recruitment team leader who claims he is "truly the reflection of perfection", and happens to have his own celebrity name already - will be after being compared to Gavin and Stacey star James Corden.

I watch the programme on occasion but Sugar is becoming boringly predictable in his comments, I am afraid. The show has gone stale and it is becoming cringe inducing watching adults humiliate themselves by begging and pleading for another chance.
