A sale of work by anonymous graffiti artist Banksy is expected to make hundreds of thousands of pounds when it is auctioned next week.

Among the highlights which will be offered for sale at Bonhams' Urban Art Sale in New Bond Street, central London, is a 2009 work Girl And Balloon, which could fetch as much as £25,000.

Another work, called Leopard And Barcode, has a pre-sale estimate of £80,000 while a screen print of Kate Moss could sell for £50,000.

Alan Montgomery, urban art specialist at Bonhams, said: "Banksy's popularity still goes from strength to strength, with the market for his work certainly following suit.

"We are excited to be offering this group of market-fresh works, which includes some of his best-known and most sought-after images. It seems that the public just can't get enough of him, and his continued anonymity, even following last year's Oscar nomination, only adds to his enigma.

"Increased international interest means that he is no longer just collected in the UK, but now has a truly global following."
The sale, which includes 17 works by the Bristol artist, is being held next Thursday.
