Homeland definitely left us wanting more.
Brody, US soldier turned by his Islamic fundamentalist captors and now intent on bringing down the US government, has made it safely through to the end of the first season, without causing any harm to anyone, but without being caught either, and his political status clearly on the rise.
Brody and Carrie - locked in a battle for ideology but, also... strangely attracted
Meanwhile, the only person who holds the key to his exposure - renegade CIA agent Carrie Matheson - has been dishonoured by the Agency and forced to succumb to electric shock therapy for her bipolar disorder. She was heard muttering some key names as she went under in the first series finale, but then all went silent.
Homeland was undoubtedly the hit of the year, winning Golden Globes for TV Drama and Clare Danes as Carrie, and capturing audiences on both sides of the Atlantic.
And it's on its way back - the second series hits US screens in September, hopefully UK ones not long after, and we've been given a tantalising few seconds to point to where the action might lead.
The clip only shows Carrie, explaining, "You lay low, you wait... and then you come back to life."
Thankfully - she was our only hope.
