London Olympics 2012: Olympic Torch-Bearer Goes Missing In Nottingham

Teenage Olympic Torch Bearer Goes Missing

An Ethiopian teenager has gone missing in Nottingham just hours after taking part in the Olympic torch relay on Thursday.

Natnael Yemane, 15, is known to have left the Jury's Inn, Waterfront Plaza at around 21:15 but failed to return.

Nottinghamshire Police have expressed concern as Yemane speaks little English and is not 'street-wise'.

Yemane has been missing since Thursday night

Yemane was in Nottingham as part of International Inspiration, London 2012’s international sports legacy programme, which selected 20 children to take part in the torch relay. One child was chosen from each country in which it operates including Turkey, Brazil and Azerbaijan.

Yemane is described as black, 5ft 8ins (1.73m) tall, and of thin build.

He has cropped Afro hair and was last seen wearing faded dark jeans, a green and yellow camouflage hooded jacket and black trainers with a white stripe.
