Beating 2000 other shed owners for the coveted prize, Shrewsbury's very own John Plumridge has won Shed Of The Year 2012 with his beer and cider-filled pseudo-pub at the bottom of his garden.

Boasting 500 ales and 110 ciders, the 'Woodhenge Pub' took four years to build and stock before winning the shedding Oscars - also known as the 'Sheddies' - this year.

Set up by founder Andrew Wilcox, the competition is now judged by a variety of industry experts, including Channel 4's Sarah Beeny, picking winners for a variety of categories. Shed categories, you say? Well, here they are, just in case you were wondering: Normal, Eco, Garden Office, Cabin/Summerhouse, Workshop/Studio, Unique, Pub and Tardis. So now you know.

And, as you'll see from the picture gallery below, the runners-up really were quite something. Seriously, does the K-9 come with the shed? Because if so, we want one, and quickly.
