The possible introduction of a new, slimline PS3 has been potentially revealed by a filing made at the FCC.
The console is reportedly set for introduction by Sony at next month's Gamescom conference in Cologne, Germany, though that has not been confirmed.
The FCC filing lists the model as CECH-40001X.
The inclusion of the number four - and the fact that the PS3 is usually listed as the 3000 series - has some speculating the machine is actually a next-gen PS4.
All that's known about the device is it seems to have its label in a different position.
Seriously - that's all we have.
But whatever it turns out to be, turn to us when it happens. HuffPost will be at Gamescom and will bring you all the best news as it happens.
