The Voice's Bo Bruce In Mourning After Mother Rosamond Winkley Dies Of Cancer

The Voice's Bo Bruce In Mourning For Mum

The Voice star Bo Bruce is in mourning after her beloved mum passed away following a lengthy battle with pancreatic cancer.

The 26 year old's mum Rosamond Winkley succumbed to the disease earlier this week at her home in Wiltshire.

A post on Bo's website on Wednesday stated: "Bo's mother Ros passed away peacefully in the night, at home, surrounded by loved ones.

"Bo would like to thank all of you for the messages of love and support, they mean so much to her.

"She promises she will be back before too long, for now she is spending quiet time with her close friends and family."

Bo's time on the show was deeply affected by her mum's illness, and her performance of Kate Bush's Running Up That Hill was especially poignant, even bringing her mentor Danny O'Donoghue to tears.

The loss comes after Bo requested a restraining order against her dad, the Earl of Cardigan, during her stint on the talent series.

Their relationship fell apart when her parents split in 2005.

A source close to Bo, real name Lady Catherine Anna Brudenell-Bruce, told the Daily Mail: "The relationship between Bo and her father is so bad, it's really beyond repair. Lord Cardigan has been in touch with Bo since she appeared on The Voice, he's been emailing her and wants to see her - but she doesn't want a relationship with him and she doesn't want anything to do with him.

"This legal order is just something she wants to ensure that he cannot contact her."
