Adam Barker, Son Of Ronnie, Arrested On Child Porn Charges

Adam Barker, the son of actor Ronnie Barker, has been charged with making indecent images of children, after eight years on the run, sources said.

Barker, 44, of no fixed address, attended a west London police station by appointment and was charged with five counts.

He was first arrested in June 2003 and released on bail until the following year but failed to return.

Barker is due to appear at Uxbridge Magistrates' Court on Tuesday afternoon.

He was believed to have fled to France when he jumped bail, and in 2005 officers said they would allow him to attend his father's funeral if he handed himself in.

He was arrested in June 2003 in a police crackdown on internet child porn, codenamed Operation Ore, and was alleged to have had 1,200 indecent images of children on his computer at his home in Ealing.

Two images were categorised as level five - the most serious - while 24 were at level four, the court heard.

Barker is the youngest son of the comedian, who starred in shows including Porridge and The Two Ronnies.

He was remanded in custody until 21 August. No plea has been entered.
