Locog is putting them up for auction, and calling in the army. The Daily Mail suggested letting the "countless people without tickets around the stadium" in from the cold.
Now Reddit users have come up with their own unique way to fill empty Olympic seats - photoshop.
In one imaginative user's contribution, the stadium is filled with famous figures from Mona Lisa to Hitler getting involved.
Others preferred to keep it simple, with just a small purple dog photoshopped in.
The site isn't the only one to notice the empty seats. On Twitter, a spoof account 'OlympicSeat' quickly popped up, gaining over 15,000 followers.
