Fifty Shades Of Grey has had many effects on society since its popularity boomed - women reading erotic fiction openly on trains, grandmothers discussing spanking with their grandchildren, men feeling generally inadequate.
Don't believe me about the grandmothers? Requests for audio versions of the book have gone through the roof according to Calibre, a charity that provides for short-sighted pensioners, with the majority of these coming from women over 70.
Retailers of bondage gear are also making a killing it seems, with reports that the book has led to a surge in the sale of whips, handcuffs and other instruments of torture.
And now another impact of the phenomenon has been revealed - viewing figures of erotic films have increased by 55 percent, according to statistics released by DVD subscription and streaming service Lovefilm.
The 'mummy porn' novel - which is the fastest selling paperback ever - has reportedly "prompted Brits to explore their naughty sides".
Some individual titles have increased in views by as much as 300 per cent.
Here are the top 5 films viewers looking for something 'saucy' are watching on Lovefilm:
Chloe - 69% increase
Exterminating Angel - 75% increase
9 Songs - 81% increase
Lie With Me - 90% increase
Secretary - 300% increase
