Cat Goes Missing From Germany, Ends Up In Scotland

Now, cats are well known for going walkabout - but we've never heard of a moggie travelling nearly 1,000 miles from home before.

A stray cat called Gypsy has been taken in by animal welfare workers in Glasgow after a concerned resident reported seeing him in a malnourished and bedraggled state. But when his rescuers tried to track down his owners using his ID microchip, they found he was last registered to an address in Germany.

"Gypsy is registered on the Pet Travel Scheme database, so he has travelled here from Germany at some point," animal rescue officer Vicky Roy from the Scottish SPCA told the Daily Mail. "It may be that his owner brought him to Scotland when they moved here and he has gone missing recently."

Oh. We prefer our own version of the story, in which Gypsy jumped on a bus to the airport then stowed away on a plane of his own accord.

Anyway, he's thought to be around 16 years old and also has ID tattoos made up of small dots in both ears. So if you recognise that description and you're missing your cat, do get in touch with the SPCA.

And now, for all you feline-lovers out there, here's our much-loved slideshow of 30 cats videos that are 30 seconds or less...
