Celtic Beat Spartak Moscow 3-2 To Win First Champions League Away Game (VIDEO)

VIDEO: Can Celtic's First Champions League Away Win Galvanise Them In Europe?

Celtic registered their first ever away win in the Champions League group stage with a 3-2 win against 10-man Spartak Moscow.

Manager Neil Lennon was understandably delighted with the result, which leaves the Hoops second to only Barcelona in their group on four points, with Spartak still pointless and Benfica on one.

"I cannot speak highly enough of the players, they were magnificent," Lennon beamed at his post-match press conference.

"They showed great character and fortitude to come back after going behind just after half-time.

"People underestimate Celtic. I don't think we get the respect we deserve but that might change a few attitudes."

Celtic have been notoriously bad travellers on the continent since their first foray into the competition in 2001/02.

They had played 20 games away from Celtic Park - 18 in the group stage - before their victory in the Russian capital on Tuesday night.
