As we celebrate the anniversary of James Bond this month, let us not forget that before Daniel Craig and the world's biggest film franchise there was set of humble spy novels.

Ian Fleming, of course, was the man who invented 007, and his books have been read and loved by millions of people in their own right.

To mark the big day, we've unearthed these rare and beautiful Bond covers (with a little help from Vintage Seekers), including one designed by Fleming himself, Casino Royal, which is worth an eye-watering £50,000.
