Cristiano Ronaldo received red cards, scored winners and had tantrums in his 12 clashes with Manchester City as a United player over six years. His 13th match against the Citizens was a lucky one too, as his dipping shot evaded Vincent Kompany and went through Joe Hart to give Real Madrid a stoppage-time winner in their opening Champions League fixture back in September.

Nearly three-and-a-half-years after he left Manchester for Madrid, Ronaldo is back ahead of Wednesday night's encounter at the Ethiad Stadium where anything but a win for City will see them eliminated from the competition at the group stage for a second successive season. Should it be Ronaldo performing the execution the schadenfreude will broaden the gleeful smiles of the spectators from the red half of Manchester.

So ahead of the week's glamour tie, it is time to recall Ronaldo's fortunes against the Blues...
