World Does Not End On December 21 2012, Despite Mayan Prophecy

APOCALYPSE NO

On Friday the 21 December 2012 at 11:11 the world did not come to an end, despite predictions by the Mayans.

Across the world thousands had prepared for the end of days, with some fleeing to a mountain in the French town of Bugarach, one of the only places believed to be safe from impending doom.

According to rumour a visual spectacle would also have been provided when spaceship-riding aliens emerged from the mountain to save nearby humans.

Others bedded down in luxury bunkers, or partied in anticipation of the end of days. Model Niki Ghazian told the New York Post she didn't want to die on a "dry spell", telling the paper she wanted to go 'out with a bang.'

Josef Stalin's underground bunker was available to those fleeing impending doom for just £920, plus 50% cashback if the world did not end.

But when the moment the Mayans predicted the world would end came and went, the world (or its citizens that were awake) breathed a collective sigh of relief.

At The Huffington Post UK we chronicled our doom in a liveblog and a website.
