Facebook announced its new Graph search engine this week, with optimistic promises that it would help you learn about your friends, discover new interests and more effectively utilise big data, whatever that is.

But given how most people use the service, we were a little sceptical that those lofty aims would be realised by its users.
Tom Scott, a web personality and video-whatnot maker, has come up what he thinks is a more realistic commercial for the service - and we're inclined to agree.
