'The Voice': Olympic Medallist Tasha Danvers Reportedly Auditions

Olympic Medallist Tries Out For 'The Voice'

The new series of 'The Voice' may have recruited one very competitive hopeful...

Olympic athlete Tasha Danvers has reportedly auditioned for the BBC singing contest.

The former hurdler won a bronze medal at the Beijing 2008 Games, and is now reportedly attempting to launch a singing career after an injury kept her away from the London 2012 Olympics.

A source told the Daily Star: "This is a big deal for Tasha and would give her a major boost to becoming a singing star. She got a bronze in the Olympics but she would love to score gold on The Voice."

Earlier this week we reported 'The Voice' has been disrupted as coach Danny O'Donoghue has been forced to pull out of filming due to illness.

The Script singer has been ordered to rest by doctors after contracting a bug, according to The Sun, and the show - which launches on BBC One next month - is still halfway through filming.

The other three coaches - Will.i.am, Jessie J and Tom Jones - were forced to go ahead and record a promo for the new series without the Irish rocker. He will now have to film his part when he is better.

Danny is due to go on tour with The Script next month and so has had to pull out of filming and rest up, to ensure he is better in time.

The coaches have already filmed the blind auditions and the battle rounds, and are about to start recording the new stage - the knockouts.

The new round was introduced by producers in a bid to try and keep viewers interest, after ratings plummeted during the show last year when the live shows began.
