Silvio Berlusconi Leaves Hospital
Former Italian premier Silvio Berlusconi leaves the San Raffaele hospital on March 15, 2013 in Milan, Italy. Berlusconi, 76, who was unable to attend the first session of the Senate Chamber earlier today, received treatment for uveitis (inflammation of the eye) and remained in hospital to be monitored for subsequent pressure problems caused by the treatment. According to reports, the court in his ongoing tax fraud appeal sent a physician to verify the condition.

Bobs Worth Wins Cheltenham Gold Cup
Bobs Worth has won the 2013 Cheltenham Gold Cup. The 11-4 favourite made a late surge to overtake Long Run and Sir Des Champs and win by seven lengths. Delighted rider Barry Geraghty said: "He's a great attitude, he struggled on the ground but he kept fighting. I was hunting and I knew coming into the second last I would win. He's as game as a lion and he loves the job."

Armed Siege in Trafford
Armed police officers and dog handler prepare to secure a property in the Trafford area of Greater Manchester after an armed siege that began at 8.30pm yesterday, ended this afternoon.
Picture date: Friday March 15, 2013. Police officers and social workers were called to an address at 8.30pm yesterday on North Lonsdale Street following reports of concern for a man. The 31-year-old man made threats towards the officers with a crossbow. Police and negotiators are at the scene trying to bring a safe end to the incident, a spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said.
