Turkish police used tear gas against the protesters in Taksim Square on Tuesday as protesters unleashed Molotov cocktails, bricks and fireworks.

Officers in Istanbul also fired rubber bullets, which pushed back many of those who had occupied the square for more than a week into Gezi Park.
