Brown Bears' Alaskan Salmon Run Broadcast Live Online (VIDEO)

For what was the internet invented? Was it sharing news of truly transformative video games, sycophancy or bragging about our kids?

None of the above. It was invented to let us watch bears.

The annual salmon run is about to start in Brooks Falls, Alaska, in the Katmai National Park, and the region's population of brown bears has started to gather for their tasty meal of raw freshwater fish.

And thanks to Explore.org, you can watch them live.

It's hypnotic viewing - even when the river is in darkness (from roughly 10am to 4pm UK time).

Take a look here. And thanks, internet. You've finally proven yourself useful.
