Couple Seeks To Ban Fashion Icon From Taking Baths

In what is quite possibly our favourite story of the week, eccentric socialite and dedicated nail-varnish-on-lips-wearerDaphne Guinness is in a legal bind regarding her liberal attitude to bathing. Daphne has been sued by a couple who live beneath the fashion icon's New York apartment.

Karim and Tina Samii, who lived on the floor below Daphne in a converted hotel on Fifth Avenue in New York, first took Guinness to court in 2010 and initially sought $1 million (£615,000) for damages and "mental anguish and emotional distress". They also attempted to ban the 42-year-old heiress from taking baths.

But fortunately for Daphne (and perhaps for the Samiis), a judge has ruled that while Guinness is responsible for water damage to the property, she is to required to pay the full $1 million - and is free to bathe at her leisure.

This is how sad we imagine Daphne would permanently look if the couple had successfully banned her from bath time.
