Tweed Nails: Texture Tips From Butter London's Katie Hughes

Tweed Nails: Texture Tips From Butter London's Katie Hughes

From the etched effect to the speckled finish, textured nails are a big thing this spring and guess what? This nail art look is quick and easy to do at home.

Butter London's Global Colour Ambassador Katie Hughes created this tweed-inspired design exclusively for MyDaily. Katie layered five candy colours to build up a fabric-like texture on top of a baby pink shade. Watch the video below to learn how it's done:

How to tips:

1. Apply two coats of your background shade. Katie used Butter London's Teddy Girl.

2. Use a thin nail art brush to randomly draw vertical and horizontal stripes all over each nail. Apply colour by colour in a light-handed manner for a more realistic effect. Katie used Butter London's Muggins (lilac), Teddy Girl (baby pink), Fiver (green), Union Jack (black) and Macbeth (coral red).

3. Finish with a top coat and leave to dry.
