The Tour de France elect winner Chris Froome did what many on the peloton have dreamt of doing and shoved an irritating fan out of the way on Saturday.
Froome, who will ride through floodlit Paris on Sunday to become the second successive British winner of the Tour, lashed out at an overzealous runner at the penultimate stage.
The Tour has long boasted an infamous array of attention-seekers clad in wacky outfits, and Froome amended his dull image with a heartwarming outburst.
Despite his impending victory, the Ashes, the Open, Bradley Wiggins' 2012 triumph, as well as Froome's favourite tag and lack of panache has ensured there is little fanfare in a summer laden with British sporting successes.
But the Team Sky rider's spontaneous shove suggests his plain persona has more to offer.
