Backstage Beauty: House Of Holland Spring/Summer 2014

"The Henry Holland girl is about sophisticated street this season", hairstylist Adam Reed told us backstage at the House of Holland Spring/Summer 2014 show.

Inspired by Mexico City, the look was slick but not wet (or "slick-to-dry" as Reed put it) and feminised with a wave through the back.

Mac's Lucia Pica created a makeup look to match Reed's sleek style - "it's Drew Barrymore with a 1950s street vibe", she said. "I've focused on luminous dewy, tropical skin and an intense raspberry lip".

Pica used Mac's Rapidblack eyeliner to draw an elongated, droopy line into the corners and for the brilliantly bright lips, she applied Mac's Lip Mixes in red and magenta along with Beat Lip Liner for "organic glamour".

As for the nails, Sophy Robson was on hand to work her magic. "I've sourced this South American religious iconography to tie in with Henry's street gangy vibe", she said.

"I've applied the images on top of a white background and the shape is new square - it's a point with the top cut off". TREND ALERT! Religious icon nail art or not, Robson promised us that we'll be seeing lots more of this shape next season. Now's the time to kick that nail-biting habit.
