Backstage Beauty: Jean-Pierre Braganza Spring/Summer 2014

Good news from the first day of London Fashion Week - lashes are back! Mac makeup artist Terry Barber confirmed that "the lash has come back after so many seasons of no mascara" backstage at Jean-Pierre Braganza's Spring/Summer 2014 show.

The result? Beautiful, Sixties doe eyes teamed with a mushroom mauve eyeshadow. "I was inspired by a picture of a young Jane Birkin", Barber told us. "I've used Mac's no.33 lashes with the new Sparkle Shadow dabbed on the inner corners of the eyes and around the edge of the temple. It gives a mother of pearl effect".

Barber finished the look with Mac's Casual Colour on the cheek and lips for a "soft, muted" glow.

As for the nails? The Orly team created a "twist on the classic French manicure" using a trio of pastel shades from the new season collection, with a hint of black.

And it wasn't just the nails that were kept chic and simple. The Toni & Guy team plaited hair before undoing the braids before the show to give the loose locks a tousled effect. Wow - a trend we can do at home!
