WATCH: Firefighter Rescues Unconscious Kitten From Burning House

Can you hear that noise?

It's the sound of my heart shattering into a thousand pieces after watching this footage of a firefighter rescuing an unconscious kitten from a burning house.

The footage was shot via a GoPro camera strapped to Cory Kalanick's helmet and sees him discovering the motionless feline in a burned, smoke-filled room.

Cory Kalanick revives the tiny kitten with oxygen and water

Kalanick picks him up and carries him outside, where he revives him with oxygen and water.

The rescue occurred back in July in Fresno, California, and the original footage, entitled The Rescue, has been viewed more than 1.4 million times on YouTube.

This version - with added music and slow-motion scenes - was uploaded to the official GoProCamera YouTube account this week

Sadly, the tiny kitten did not survive the night and succumbed to his injuries, the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals tells CBS47.tv.

"It's a very sad loss. The kitten, however, was in very loving hands to get taken care of," a spokesman told the channel

There are not enough "sad face" emoticons...
